This easy hike provides some of the best fall colors near Denver and offers a glance at two small and tranquil lily pad-covered lakes.

Begin the hike at the Lily Pad Lake Trailhead right off I-70. Simply follow signs toward Lily Pad Lake, making a couple creek crossings and going up a very slight hill. At a junction, continue toward Lily Pad Lake and you will descend a bit before reaching the first lake on your left. Continue walking a few feet and you’ll see the second lake on the other side of the path. If you feel like an extra challenge, continue on this trail as far you’d like – eventually it reaches a different trailhead at which point you’ll need to turn back around. Return to your car on the same path.
